3/3/1931	Gandhi and Viceroy Irwin sign Delhi Pact giving Indians right to make salt if civil disobedience stops.
10/9/2000	The Reserve Bank of India issued bank notes in the denomination of Rs.1000 in the Mahatma Gandhi series bearing the leader's portrait in the watermark and signature of Dr. Bimal Jalan, Governor of the RBI. The length of the note is 177 mm and the width is 73 mm. The notes are printed in a combination of offset and intaglio processes. This is the first note with intaglio printing on it.

4/6/1930	Mahatma Gandhi picked up a lump of natural salt for breaking the 'Salt Law'. He was arrested at Dandi. This movement gathered strength and within a month about one lakh people were sent to jail. This violation of Salt Law was the second great step in India's Freedom Movement.
3/24/1990	Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) was withdrawn in toto from the northern and eastern provinces of Sri Lanka.
4/21/1993	India announces establishing proof in Pakistan's complicity in Bombay bomb blasts.
10/26/1961	Heavy fighting flared up between India and Communist China in their three-year-old dispute over border lines in the Himalayas. Each side accused the other of initiating the fighting that began along the Tibetan border early in October.
