Mumbai, Dec 10 (IANS) Actress Shweta Basu Prasad has announced her separation from husband, filmmaker Rohit Mittal. The couple got married on December 13 last year.

Shweta took to Instagram to announce that the couple had mutually decided to part ways.

"Hi everyone, Rohit Mittal and I have mutually decided to part ways and end our marriage. After months of contemplation, we arrived at this decision few months ago in each other's best interest, as individuals. Not every book is supposed to be read cover to cover, that doesn't mean the book is bad, or one can't read. Some things are better left unfinished," she wrote.

She added: "Thank you Rohit for irreplaceable memories and always inspiring me. Have a great life ahead, forever your cheerleader."

Shweta rose to fame with her double-role act in Vishal Bhardwaj's 2002 release, "Makdee". The performance won her a National Award as Best Child Artiste.

In Bollywood, she was last seen in Vivek Agnihotri's "The Tashkent Files", earlier this year.
